HnG! Ep.8 was a paradoxical episode as at first glance, I thought it was catered to fufill the desires of fanboys that watch this slightly harem anime. Then I realised that the character subjected to portray all the classic Moe criteria was Hayate.
For those still left in the dark, the person in the sailor-styled school uniform, complete with the cliche bow on the head, is Hayate. Hayate is male by birth, ambigious by nature.
Here is Hayate again in a neko-loli costume, forced upon him by two over enthusiatic ladies. His image complete with uber moe lines like, “You’re horrible” said with the intent of invoking pity.
The episode wouldn’t have been complete without pink shoujo-bubble and sparkles, plus kira-kira sfx.
What I find amusing is that Hayate looks more adorable/cute than any other the other girls in the anime. This episode would make the Fujoshi ladies happy. Cross-dressing always makes people happy.
